- Survey of "basic" biology concepts
- Discover students' commonly-held
biological misunderstandings; provoke responses that represent
their working understanding, rather than what they remember.
- Force students outside their reliance on the "rhetoric" of
science
- Create a replicable development process (and a valid and
reliable instrument.)
